WHAT WE DO
OUR MISSION
Our Mission is simple... to reach the people of Brazil with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Jesus said in Matthew 28:19, “Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations”… and we believe He has called us to the nation of Brazil to do just that… “make disciples.”
With us, it all starts with the children of Brazil and it's teenagers.
ORPHAN CARE
There are currently over 7 million orphans in Brazil. Since 2011’ we’ve partnered with a handful of local orphanages in attempt to minister to the spiritual and physical needs of these children.
Since a majority of these kids will ‘age out’ of these facilities at the age of 18 (with no hope of ever returning home to their families or becoming adopted) we endeavour to help offer them stability by being present in their lives now and even after they leave the orphanage.
We believe that despite their difficult circumstances, by us being ‘present in their lives,’ pointing them toward Christ, showing them the love that they need and giving them real world advice on how to live all helps them to become productive members of society once they move out on their own.
HELPING AT RISK CHILDREN
Drugs, gangs, poverty, violence. These things permeate the culture of where we live and most of the kids we minister to live right in the middle of some of the most dangerous favelas in the world. This is their reality because it’s a part of their daily lives.
We minister to hundreds of children each month who, although they aren’t orphans and are part of some type of family structure, they live in these desperate conditions.
We’ve partnered with a few Brazilian Gospel centered organizations who minister daily to these kids through day programs. These organizations offer a safe place for the children to go for the half of the day that they’re not in school. In addition to being taught life skills, they’re able to take computer classes, art, music and all in a Gospel-centered environment that keeps them off the streets.
CAMPS
We live on 110 acres in the jungles of Campina Grande do Sul. This property is actually a children’s camp where we’ve literally hosted thousands of kids over the last 7 years.
Because of our generous supporters we’ve been able to bring kids from the local orphanages and from the surrounding favelas for FREE. Zip lines, the obstacle course, team games, swimming, nature trails- it’s all a part of what they're able to experience here at Camp Refùgio. And it’s all made possible by our supporters.
